Deeds
The Registry of Deeds was established in 1708 to provide legal entitlement to land ownership. Most of the land was in the hands of members of the Established Church. This chapter gives the substance of the deeds relating to Dundons. The period covered then is from 1773 to 1899. The originals are in the Registry of Deeds, Henrietta Street, Dublin.
Deeds are usually lengthy documents and so only a synopsis of them have been recorded. However the years and reference numbers are given. Some of the deeds are difficult to read.
The earliest mention of a Dundon in the Registry is for 1773.
